[Project Overview]

Faced with growing urban noise pollution and the lack of a simple reporting system, I designed NoiseAware to bridge the gap between residents and authorities.

[Problem Statement]

Nearly 55% of urban residents experience avoidable noise disturbances daily, yet most lack an accessible and structured way to report issues or track their resolution.

Root cause of the problem

Mumbai’s push for redevelopment involves packing tall buildings into congested areas. These projects take 2–4 years, meaning constant drilling, hammering, and machinery noise day and night.

Conducted user interviews with 15 participants to understand their frustrations and preferences.

Analyzed user behavior data to pinpoint where users dropped off in the process.
